Services for Eloise Hornaman, 91, of Aberdeen and formerly of Groton will be 2:00pm, Thursday, December 27th at Paetznick-Garness Funeral Chapel, Groton. Rev. Tom Haggar will officiate. Burial will follow in Groton Union Cemetery under the direction of Paetznick-Garness Funeral Chapel, Groton. www.paetznick-garness.com
Visitation will be held at the chapel from 4-8 pm on Wednesday and will continue prior to services on Thursday.
Eloise passed away December 23, 2007 at ManorCare Health Services in Aberdeen.
Eloise Harriet Potter was born on October 10, 1916 to George and Althea (Mereness) Potter in Groton, South Dakota. She attended and graduated from Groton High School. On May 21, 1936, she united in marriage with Herbert Hornaman in Ipswich. They lived in Aberdeen during their first years of marriage, later moving to LeSeuer, Minnesota. The couple then relocated to Groton, where they remained until their retirement years. After Herbert's death on January 28, 1988, Eloise remained at Homestead Apartments in Aberdeen. She became a resident of ManorCare Health Services in November of 2007.
Eloise was a member of the United Methodist Church. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and word-search games. Eloise also enjoyed watching the Animal Channel, cooking shows and baseball.
Grateful for having shared in her life are her children; Dennis (Janice) Hornaman of Trinidad, Colorado, Joel (Mary) Hornaman of Aberdeen and eleven grandchildren. Eloise was also blessed with many great-grandchildren.
Honorary Casketbearers will be her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
