Harriet Lee Obituary

Memorial services for Harriet Anderson Lee, 93, of Aberdeen will be 11:00 am, Saturday, August 18th at Bethlehem Lutheran Chapel, Aberdeen. Pastor Deb Grismer will officiate. Inurnment will be held at 9:45am in Union Cemetery under the direction of Paetznick-Garness Funeral Chapel, Groton. www.paetznick-garness.com

Harriet passed away Wednesday, August, 15, 2007 at Bethesda Home, Aberdeen.

Harriet Lucille Simonson was born on April 13, 1914 in James, SD to Theodore and Josephine (Roe) Simonson, the eldest of nine children. She attended school in Groton and graduated with Salutatorian honors in 1931. Following high school, Harriet attended college at River Falls, Wisconsin. She later returned to Groton and worked in the drug store. On October 16, 1947 she united in marriage with Oscar Anderson and together they made their home in Aberdeen. After his death on May 3, 1960, she worked in the Registrar's office at Northern State University. She remained in Aberdeen and married Clifford Lee on January 6, 1968. He passed away on October 1, 1979. Harriet became a resident of Bethesda Home in October of 1995 and resided there until her death.

Harriet was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Aberdeen where she served as Past President of the Ladies Aid (WELCA). She was also a charter member of the Sons of Norway-Grieg Lodge #1-578.

Grateful for having shared in her life is her step-son, Karl Lee of Aberdeen, two step-daughters, Irene (Anderson) Snyder of Pocatello, Idaho, Krestie (Lee) Utecht of Pittsford, New York, four sisters; Elaine Lorenz of Downing, Wisconsin, Jean Amonson of Portland, Oregon, Mary (Robert) Thompson of Aberdeen, and Janice (Willis) Nesheim of St. Louis, Missouri. Harriet is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her spouses, two brothers; Jack and Donald Simonson, her sister, Dorothy Fiedler and infant sister, Lois.
