Services for Marvin Sippel, 92, of Groton will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, May 19th at St. John's Lutheran Church, Groton. Rev. Craig Grams will officiate. Burial will follow under the direction of Paetznick-Garness Funeral Chapel, Groton (www.paetznick-garness.com).
Visitation will be held at the chapel from 4-8pm on Friday with a prayer service at 8:00pm. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to services at the church.
Marv passed away May 16, 2007 in Groton.
Marvin Adam Sippel was born in Groton on November 4, 1914 to George and Lillian (Osman) Sippel. He attended country schools and later Groton High School. Following school, Marvin worked on the family farm northeast of Groton. He united in marriage with Margaret Johnson on December 16, 1942.
Marv was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Groton. He was active in Senior Citizens, the Two Cylinder Club of Andover and was a 20 year member of the National Brown Swiss Association. Marv enjoyed gardening and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret of Groton, one son, Marty (Ellie) Sippel of Groton, one daughter, Mary Ann Sippel of Aberdeen, two sisters; Mabel Hagele of Ipswich and Marie Gengerke of Groton and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers; Melvin Sippel and Harry Sippel, one sister, Myrtle Blondo and his grand-niece, Lisa Sippel.
Honorary Casketbearers will be all of Marv's Coffee Friends.
Casketbearers will be Roger Johnson, Gary Fliehs, Dennis Larson, Jack Oliver, Darrel Fliehs, and Robbin Green.
