Ron passed away Monday, April 1, 2019 at his home.

Ron was born on June 29, 1947 in Conde to Matt and Helen (Bertsch) Bawek.  He attended school in Conde, graduating in 1965.  Ron enlisted with the National Guard and served for 6 years.  During this time, he worked for his brother hauling gravel and later for Dakota Transfer in Aberdeen.  On August 17, 1968 he was united in marriage with Becky Thomas and together they made their home in Conde.  Ron purchased his own truck and hauled grain into Minneapolis for many years.  He later helped two local farmers before taking the Maintenance position for the City of Conde.  He retired after 13 years.

Ron was active on the Conde Cemetery Board and Fire Department.  He was a member of the American Legion.  Ron enjoyed collecting scrap metal, tinkering in his shop and working on vehicles for family and friends.  He loved the Beach Boys and singing and dancing to the "Golden Oldies."  His passion was teaching friends and family to play Pitch, building hot rods, and a unique tractor he called "The Obituary."  Ron proudly won 1st Place in many local parades.

Celebrating his life is his wife of 50 years, Becky, his children: Rhonda (Dave) Burke, Kerri Bawek and Jake Bawek (Ashley Jost) all of Conde, his grandchildren, Shanotta & Tilsyn Bawek, step-grandchildren, Bryce Burke, Teagan Jost, his sister-in-law, Joyce Bawek of Conde and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents, two sisters, one brother and two brother-in-laws.
