Agnes Hildebrant Obituary

Mass of Christian Burial for Agnes Hildebrant, 83, of Conde will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 24th at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Turton. Father Mike Kelly will officiate. Burial will follow in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Conde under the direction of Paetznick-Garness Funeral Chapel, Groton.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the church with a wake and rosary service at 7:00 p.m.

Agnes passed away Monday, April 21, 2014 at Golden Living Center, Groton.

Agnes Elizabeth was born on January 16, 1931 to Anthony and Edith (Shannon) Mork in Pierpont. She attended and graduated from Groton High School. On September 17, 1949 she was united in marriage with Duane Hildebrant in Conde. Together they owned and operated the Conde Pool Hall from 1957-1967. Duane and his brother later purchased the Conde Lumber Yard, where Agnes worked as a bookkeeper. In 1983, they purchased D & A Market and ran it until their retirement in 1994.

Agnes was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Conde and was active in the Conde American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed fishing, bowling, playing cards and traveling, especially bus trips.

Celebrating her life are her children: Edith (Tom) Bertsch of Conde, Laurel Hearnen (Harold Ewing) of Conde, Patricia Smith of Brookings, Robert Hildebrant of Conde, Michael (Michelle) Hildebrant of Conde, Paul (Marcie) Hildebrant of Selby, 14 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and her brothers, Dale (Linda) Mork of Aberdeen and Bob Mork of Platteville, Colorado.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband in August of 2001, two brothers, Clyde and Lloyd Mork, her sister, Mary Moerke and a daughter in infancy.

Honorary Casketbearers will be all of Agnes’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Casketbearers will be Travis Smith, Brian Bertsch, Amy Hearnen, Brenda Ferrie, Melissa Grandpre and Brady Bertsch.
