Al passed away December 6, 2007 at his residence in Crandall.
Albert George Watts was born on September 24, 1938 in Webster to George Albert and Hilma (Johnson) Watts. He attended school in Andover and later self-taught himself to be a mechanic. Al united in marriage with Maryann Schweigert on November 29, 1963 in Webster and together the couple made their home in Crandall. They later moved to Blaine, Minnesota where Al worked for Dealer's Manufacturing for 18 years. He later opened his own business, Watt's Motor Installation and Repair. After selling the business in 2000, the couple returned to Crandall in April of 2001 to live in the home that Al's great-grandfather had built.
Al's favorite hobbies were working on cars and motors, riding snowmobile, and listening to country music. He also enjoyed feeding the birds and spending time with his three favorite brother-in-laws. Al was a Day County history buff and over the years he had collected many John Deere tractors.
Grateful for having shared in his life is his wife of Crandall, three children; Kenneth Watts of Aberdeen, Janice (Thad) Chergosky of Cambridge, MN, Michael (Dena Johnson) Watts of Elk River, MN and four grandchildren; Michael Jay Watts, Shawna Chergosky, Nicholas Watts and Gage Watts.
Preceding him in death were his parents, and one sister, Doreen McKittrick.
Casketbearers will be Jake Kammerer, Greg Olson, Thad Chergosky, Shawn Schweigert, Jim Geise and Travis Phillips.
