Services for Annabeth Rohwer, 92, of Groton will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 25th at St. John's Lutheran Church in Groton. Rev. Craig Grams will officiate. Burial will follow in Groton Union Cemetery under the direction of Paetznick-Garness Funeral Chapel, Groton.
Visitation will be held at the church on Sunday from 4-8 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.
Annabeth passed away June 20, 2012 at Avera St. Lukes in Aberdeen, SD.
Annabeth Hazel Paulson was born to Sidney and Hatvig (Krenz) Paulson August 1, 1919 near Pierpont, SD. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She graduated from Pierpont High School in 1938. She then attended beauty school in Aberdeen. She was a beautician at Miller's in Groton and for Myrtle Taylor at the Vanity in Aberdeen. She was united in marriage to Lawrence Rohwer of Groton in Pierpont February 24, 1940. To this union 4 children were born, Joan; twins, John and Judy; and Janet. Lawrence and Annabeth resided on the Rohwer farm together for over 63 years. They then moved to Rosewood Court in Groton. Lawrence passed away July 8, 2004. Annabeth continued living at Rosewood until 2010 when she moved to the Golden Living Center.
Annabeth was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Groton. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining for family and friends. She was a very good cook for which Lawrence sometimes took credit as he said he taught her how to cook! She loved her big house on the farm and spending a few days at the cabin on Pickerel Lake. Over the 4th of July, when, she and Lawrence entertained there, she prepared the first of her spring chickens for the crowd. She always looked forward to their many annual October and February trips to Las Vegas. Annabeth was a member of numerous clubs and organizations throughout her active years.
Celebrating her life are her three daughters, Joan (Allan) Weismantel, McKinney, TX; Judy (John) Windorski, Brahm, MN; Janet (Merle) Harder, Enemy Swim Lake, SD and daughter-in-law, Marletta Rohwer, Shoreview, MN. Annabeth is also survived by her eight grandchildren, Anne (Dan) Kjellgren, Brant (Kim) Rohwer, Jared (Meagan) Rohwer, Erin (Corey) Flath, TJ (Marcy) Harder, Adam Harder, Brian (Michelle) Harder and Corey (Brenda) Harder and her great-grandchildren include Abbey, Erik and Annika Kjellgren, Brielle, Lincoln and Olivia Rohwer, Halee and Haden Harder, Malorie, McKayla and Maggie Harder; Rayce and Alexis Harder.
Annabeth was predeceased by her parents; husband; son, John in December of 2010; granddaughters, Susan Weismantel and Shawn Weismantel Kramer; and sisters, Ardis Sundberg and Helen Mae Andersen.
Pall Bearers are her grandchildren, Anne Kjellgren, Brant Rohwer, Jared Rohwer, Erin Flath, TJ Harder, Adam Harder, Brian Harder and Corey Harder.
