Services for Arminta Harry, 87 of Ferney will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 23rd at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Ferney. Rev. Lloyd Redhage will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Aberdeen under the direction of Paetznick-Garness Funeral Chapel, Groton.
Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 4-8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.
Arminta passed away Monday, February 18, 2013 at ManorCare Health Services in Aberdeen.
Arminta May was born on February 27, 1925 in Lantry, SD to Lewis and Veva (Woodward) Badger. Her early years were spent in Belle Fouche and Lead, SD. She graduated from Lead High School in 1942. Her family moved to Redfield and she found work in Aberdeen at Winston-Newell Co. Arminta met her husband, Maurice, at a dance in Ferney and they were married October 24, 1945. After living in California while Maurice was in the Army, they returned to Ferney, where they farmed and raised five children.
Arminta was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and was active in the ladies circle. She also belonged to Pleasure & Profit Extension Club. She enjoyed crocheting and had made afghans for all of her grandchildren.
Arminta was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, a sister and her husband.
Celebrating her life are her children: Sandy Hanson (Glen), Dennis (Julie) Harry, Larry (Kathy) Harry, Cheryl (Donn) Cutler and Mike (Janene) Harry. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, two sisters: Marilyn Phillips of Las Vegas, NV, Midge Young of Redfield, SD, one brother, Dan Badger of Las Vegas, NV and many nieces and nephews.
Casketbearers will be her grandchildren.
