Services for Belva Dobberpuhl, 78, of Aberdeen will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 30th at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Aberdeen. Rev. Hyle Anderson will officiate. Burial will follow in Groton Union Cemetery under the direction of Paetznick-Garness Funeral Chapel, Groton.
Visitation will be held at the church from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Sunday with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
Belva passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at Avera St. Lukes Hospital, Aberdeen.
Belva Louise Bahr was born on March 1, 1933 near Groton to Albert R. and Elda C. (Sombke) Bahr. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ferney. Belva attended and graduated from Groton High School in 1951. Following graduation, she worked as Deputy of the Brown County Register Of Deeds. On May 5, 1956 she united in marriage with James Edwin Dobberpuhl and together they made their home in Minneapolis for a short time. They later moved to Bismarck, ND where Belva worked as a bookkeeper for Montana Dakota Utilities. After the couple returned to Aberdeen, Belva served as the Deputy Clerk of Courts in Brown County from 1958-1963 In August of 1963, after the birth of her daughter, she quit work in order to devote her time to being a full time wife and mother.
Belva was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Aberdeen and had been active in LWML and Good Cheer Circle. She enjoyed gardening and flowers, fishing, camping and spending time with her family. She especially liked attending concerts for both of her granddaughters.
Celebrating her life is her husband, James; her daughter, Cynthia Lea (Dave) Stadel of Aberdeen, her granddaughters, Kelly Leanne Stadel and Jamie Kendal Stadel. She is also survived by her brother, Arnold (Beverly) Bahr of Groton.
Preceding her in death were her parents and her brother, Wallace Bahr.
Honorary Casketbearers will be Members of the Good Cheer Circle.
Casketbearers will be Robert Friske, Jr., Jeff Dobberpuhl, Harlan Radke, Jr., Duane Dobberpuhl, Dave Stadel and Ken Stadel.
