Beverly Ann was born on September 24, 1938 to Arthur and Lillian (Simon) Holsing of Ipswich, SD. She was the fifth (baby of the big 5) of ten children and enjoyed being a member of a big family.

Beverly attended school in Ipswich and graduated high school in 1956. She attended South Dakota State College from 1957-1959. Beverly was chosen as a representative to the International Farm Youth Exchange (IFYE) to Switzerland from April to October in 1960. It was a life changing trip in which she made life-long friendships and memories. After that she worked as a flight attendant for TWA.

Beverly married Wayne Wright on December 8, 1963 in Ferney, SD. They farmed near Turton, SD where she was ready to help with farm duties when she was able. She worked at the ASCS office in Redfield until their children were born; Ann in 1966, Amy in 1967 and Adam in 1972.

Once their children were old enough for 4H, Beverly became a strong supporter and leader of the cooperative extension service and 4H. Having been a 4H’er herself, she was a tireless supporter and advocate of 4H. Up until her cancer returned, she enjoyed being a leader (over 45 years), judging exhibits locally and at the state fair.  Beverly chaperoned the 4H Club Congress trip in 1995, she served on the local and state extension, 4H leaders and 4H Foundation boards.

She received several awards for her volunteer work, including nationally the 1998 4H Salute to Excellence in which she attended and returned as a program leader.  She was inducted into the 4H Hall of Fame and received the Eminent Homemaker award in 2001. Bev served on the selection committee for the SD Spirit of Dakota award for many years.

Beverly was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ferney. She taught confirmation and Vacation Bible School for many years.

Beverly worked various jobs over the years. She was an Oster Foods product demonstrator and Weekender Clothing Representative. She worked for Prairie Partners coordinating easements for land owners along the James River.

Beverly enjoyed traveling with Wayne to various REA meetings, events and seeing her grandchildren participate in their activities.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Art and Lillian, brothers, Arnold and Harlan.

Celebrating her life is her husband, Wayne of Turton, daughters, Ann (Seth) Hansen of Brookings, SD, Amy (Lowell) Kruse of Little Falls, MN, and son, Adam (Nikki) Wright of Turton, SD.  She  is also survived by her Grandchildren: Jacob (Brooke) Kruse, Nolan Hansen, Connor Kruse, Tatum Wright, Talli Wright, and Lauren Hansen, her sisters, Marcene Bruckner of Conde, Carolyn Hieb of Brookings, Diane (Don) Hoyle of Ipswich, Kathy (Gary) Adam of Akaska, Sharon (Jim) Engler of Ipswich, brothers, Duane (Arlene) of Cresbard, Larry (Cheryl) of Mobridge, sister-in-laws, Marjorie Holsing of Aberdeen and Betsy Holsing of Bay City, Michigan, along with numerus nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

The family will be forever thankful to the hospice family that has been so thoughtful and helpful during this time. Memorials can be directed to local 4H programs, Avera Hospice of Aberdeen or St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ferney.

She will be missed by all.
