Carrol Bingham, 85, of Saratoga, California and formerly of Groton passed away February 27, 2011 at his residence in Saratoga. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 13th at 3:00 P.M. at Peninsula Bible Church in Cupertino, CA Private burial was held in Groton Union Cemetery under the direction of Paetznick-Garness Funeral Chapel, Groton.
Carrol Eugene was born on Dec. 24, 1925 in Groton, SD to Scott & Esther (Litzkow) Bingham. After graduating from Groton High School, he served in the Navy during WWII and again during the Korean War. Carrol moved to California in 1960 where he married Lois Reinhardt on Sept. 1, 1960. He worked for the state of CA, Agnews State Hospital in the Maintenance Dept. as a painter until he retired in 1987.
Carrol was active in his church, along with being a volunteer Chaplain at the county Jail. He had also been an active member in American Legion, Christian Business Men's Committee and The Gideons International.
He is survived by his wife, Lois, 5 sisters and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, 2 sisters, and his twin brother.
