Services for Concordia "Connie" Lenling, 101, of Groton will be 1:00pm on Monday, March 3rd at St. John's Lutheran Church, Groton. Rev. Craig Grams will officiate. Burial will follow in West Hanson Township Cemetery under the direction of Paetznick-Garness Funeral Chapel, Groton. www.paetznick-garness.com
Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4-8pm on Sunday and will continue prior to services at the church.
Connie passed away February 28, 2008 at Golden Living Center, Groton.
Concordia Mathilda Lenling was born on November 20, 1906 in West Hanson Township to John and Ida (Haker) Lenling. She was baptized and confirmed at West Hanson Lutheran Church. Connie attended country school and later helped on the family farm. She became a nanny for a local family and also did housekeeping work. For several years, Connie worked at the School for the Blind and the Hobby Shop in Aberdeen. In 1951, she moved to Groton, and began caring for elderly people in their homes. In later years, Connie became a caretaker for her parents and her sister.
Connie was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Groton. She enjoyed gardening, playing the organ and spending time with friends and family.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her brothers; Marlow Lenling, Arden Lenling Eldon Lenling, five sisters; Retha Lenling, Elva Hite, Lorna Lenling, Vila Waddle, Hilda Larsen and three nephews.
Survivors include her sister-in-law, Betty Lenling, her brother-in-law, Glen Waddle, eight nieces and nephews; Karen Lenling, Arden Lenling, Jr., Arlell Sayler, Gary Lenling, Debbie Dell, Gregory Hite, Tamara Goin, and Sheryl Fiene.
