Dale passed away January 09, 2011 at Avera St. Lukes Hospital, Aberdeen.
Dale Omar Stanley was born on June 12, 1923 in Britton, SD to Harry and Ida (Engberg) Stanley. He attended country schools for eight years and graduated from Claremont High School in 1941. Dale began farming after high school and spent 60 years on the family farm. He was united in marriage with Nnea Freudenthal on September 30, 1947. Together they had four children. When he retired from farming, they moved into Claremont. Dale continued to lend a helping hand in his retirement years.
Dale loved everything about farm life and raised livestock for many years. As he accumulated more land, he devoted more time to grain farming and eventually gave up the livestock. He still has the first tractor that he bought at the time of his death. It was his pride and joy, affectionately referred to as "his sports car." Before he left the farm, he drove it everyday.
Dale was a member of the United Methodist Church, Claremont. He served a number of years on the Township Board, and two terms on the FHA Board. Dale also belonged to the Aberdeen Elks Club. He enjoyed following his grandkids activities.
