Daryl Bahr

Services for Daryl Bahr, 32, of Groton will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 30th at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Ferney. Rev. Lloyd Redhage will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery under the direction of Paetznick-Garness Funeral Chapel, Groton.

Visitation will be held at the funeral chapel from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.

Daryl passed away April 26, 2009 at Avera St. Lukes Hospital in Aberdeen.

Daryl Lee Bahr was born on Oct 10, 1976 to LeRoy & Janice (Maynard) Bahr in Aberdeen. His sister, Lori who at the time had just turned 3, now had a best friend to play with. Daryl was baptized at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ferney on Nov 14, 1976.

Daryl attended school in Groton from pre-school thru the 8th Grade. He began High School in Groton and attended until his 16th birthday. Daryl led a very disillusioned life, never knowing which way to turn. However, he was always thinking of his mother and how she liked Christian things.

A life cut short leaves a big hole in everyone's life. Daryl managed to get to his favorite place he talked about, "California" with Lori back in 2007. They had traveled to see the "True Colors" concert, but were unable to attend. Daryl loved music and enjoyed spending time on the computer. He was a compassionate son and brother, and left his family with these words in the hospital, "I love you, guys"

Grateful for having shared in his life are his parents, LeRoy and Janice Bahr of Groton and his sister, Lori Bahr of Groton.

Preceding him in death were his maternal and fraternal grandparents.

Casketbearers will be Kent Holler, Ryan Holler, Roni Dobberpuhl, Michael Fey, Everett Maynard and Landal Leonhardt.
