Dayle Keith Craig was born on March 12, 1929 to Clarence and Bessie (Eikanas) Craig in Aberdeen, South Dakota. He attended school in Groton, graduating in 1948. On March 5, 1948 he united in marriage with Blanche Bonn and together they made their home on the farm near Groton. After farming for many years, they moved into town and Dayle worked at the Groton Farmer's Elevator.
Dayle's hobbies included playing cards, collecting antique tractors and Ford pick-ups. He collected many other items over the years, often found at garage and auction sales. Throughout his entire life, he had a real love for raising dogs. In earlier years, Dayle was active with his children's 4-H group activities. After he retired, Dayle did some traveling, which he truly enjoyed. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Grateful for sharing in his life are his children, Gary (Terry) Craig of Houston, Texas; Vicki (Les) Hovrud of Madison; Sandy Knudson of Aberdeen; Roger (Jennifer) Craig of Alexandria; Scott (Kathy) Craig of Aberdeen; Becky (Todd) Sapp of Alexandria; one brother, Doug (Brenda) Craig of Claremont; two sisters, Donna Bahr of Groton and Darlene Biggs of Great Bend, Kansas; 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
