Services for DeLoris Krueger-Knoll, 95, of Groton will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 19th at the United Methodist Church, Groton. Rev. Brandon Dunham will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Aberdeen under the direction of Paetznick-Garness Funeral Chapel, Groton.
Visitation will be at the chapel on Wednesday from 4-6 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m.
DeLoris passed away September 15, 2019 at Avantara Groton.
DeLoris Anna was born on May 29, 1924 in Sanborn, MN to August and Lillie (Neeb) Kosel. She grew up and attended Zion Lutheran Parochial School and graduated with honors from Sanborn High School in 1942. On February 19, 1944 she was united in marriage with Hollace Krueger in Sanborn and the couple farmed in Clements, MN. In 1947, they moved with their 2 boys to a farm north of Groton, SD where they farmed and maintained a dairy operation. Here, they were blessed with two additional sons. In addition to work on the family farm, DeLoris worked 13 years at Colonial Manor and the school as a cook. Hollace passed away in August of 1988 and she later moved into Groton and retired. In 1992, she married Alvin Knoll. He died in March of 2001.
DeLoris was very active in many organizations including Eastern Star, Garden Club, United Methodist Women, Groton Senior Citizens and Legion Auxiliary. She loved to play bridge and belonged to several card clubs.
Celebrating her life are her sons, Douglas (Rose Marie) Krueger of Alberta, MN, Richard (JoAnn) Krueger of Groton, Ronald (Jill) Krueger of Groton and Curtis Krueger of Groton, 11 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and special friend, Jean Walter.
Preceding her in death were her two husbands, two brothers, one sister, one grandson and one great-grandchild.
Honorary Casketbearers will be her great-grandchildren.
Casketbearers will be Todd Krueger, Scott Krueger, Jeremy Krueger, Bryce Krueger, Daniel Krueger and Michael Krueger.
