Memorial Services for Elias A. Gomez, 48, of Groton will be 7:00 p.m., Monday, August 22nd at the United Methodist Church, Groton. Rev. Matt Richards will officiate. Graveside services will be led by Deacon Jim Bader on Saturday, August 27th at 9:00 a.m. in the Kinney County Cemetery, Brackettville, Texas.
Elias Antonio Gomez was born on November 16, 1962 in Del Rio, Texas to Elias and Paula (Cedillo) Gomez. He attended school in Brackettville and worked locally following graduation. Eli later moved to South Dakota in 1995 and began working for the Howard family in 2000. He spent eight years with them before taking a job with Bahr Construction. Eli was a hard-worker and loyal employee. His smile and wit will be missed by fellow co-workers and friends. Eli will forever be remembered for his generosity to others. As a donor, his final gift will be able to help many people.
Celebrating his life are his two brothers; Heriberto Gomez, Florentino Gomez and three sisters; Maria Estella Gomez, Josefina Aguirre and Margarita Lira. "Tony" is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother, Elias Gomez.
Honorary pallbearers will be all of Eli's friends.
