Harlan McKittrick Obituary

Services for Harlan McKittrick, 72, of Andover will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, June 20th at the United Methodist Church, Groton. Pastor Jan Price will officiate. Burial will follow in the Andover Cemetery under the direction of Paetznick-Garness Funeral Chapel, Groton.

Visitation will be held at the chapel from 4-8pm on Tuesday and will continue prior to services at the church on Wednesday.

Harlan passed away June 17, 2007 at Avera St. Luke's Hospital, Aberdeen.

Harlan Eugene McKittrick was born on February 26, 1935 to Glen and Mildred (Sigdestad) McKittrick. He attended rural school and later graduated from Bristol High School. On May 10, 1957, he united in marriage with Mary Lou Brotzel and to this union five children were born. Mary Lou passed away in January of 1981. Harlan worked for the Railroad for many years before retiring in Andover.

Harley was a member of the United Methodist Church, Andover. He enjoyed dancing and attending auction sales. He also liked horses and could be found helping to hitch teams. Harley will forever be remembered for his whistling skills, and for his love of the auctioneer's song.

Grateful for having shared in his life are his children; Tim (Wendy) McKittrick of Langford, Penny McKittrick of Wayne, Nebraska and boyfriend Mike Rohrbach of Aberdeen, Lisa (Mark) Hauger of Sioux Falls, six grandchildren; Jakob McKittrick, Karla McKittrick, Cody Onnen, Alex Onnen, Shelbi Hauger, Brady Hauger, one brother, Roger McKittrick of Coon Rapids, Minnesota and his sister-in-law, Luetta McKittrick of Aberdeen.

Preceding him in death was his wife, two sons, Michael and Corey, his parents, one sister, Donna Peckham and two brothers, Dale McKittrick and James McKittrick.

Casketbearers will be Mike Rohrbach, Mark Hauger, Cody Onnen, Richard Sigdestad, James Swanson and Randy McKittrick.
