James Krueger Obituary

Services for James Krueger, 83, of Conde will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 17th at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Ferney. Rev. Lloyd Redhage will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Aberdeen under the direction of Paetznick-Garness Funeral Chapel, Groton.

Visitation will be held at the chapel from 4-8 p.m. on Friday with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

Jim passed away April 13, 2010 at Avera St. Lukes Hospital, Aberdeen.

James Rolland was born on October 15, 1926 in Aberdeen to Herman and Lillian (Flitsch) Krueger. He attended school in Groton, graduating in 1944. Jim went on to Dunwoody Technical School in Minneapolis, where he learned to be a welder. He was united in marriage with Betty Ellingson on March 25, 1950 in
Redfield. Together they made their home near Ferney, where Jim farmed and operated Krueger Welding.

Jim was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Ferney. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and spending time at the lake home on Enemy Swim. In earlier years, he enjoyed bowling.

Celebrating his life through memories is his wife of 60 years, Betty; three sons, David Krueger of Conde, Steve (Cora) Krueger of Conde, Bob (Lois) Krueger of Groton; four granddaughters, Jackie, Amy, Jessie and Teresa; three great-grandchildren, Myron Fisk, IV, Gabriel Merkel and Ashton Krueger, his brother, Dr. John (Joyce) Krueger of Wessington Springs and his brother-in-law, Russell (Gloria) Ellingson of Sacramento, California.

Preceding him in death were his parents and a great-granddaughter, Angel Merkel.

Casketbearers will be Julius Kolb, Charles Fulker, Jerry Wright, Steve Dunker, Wally Blondo, Allan Merkel, Scott Krueger and Mike Krueger.
