Services for James Pigors, 74, of Andover will be2:00pm, Saturday, August 23rd at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Ferney. Rev. Lloyd Redhage will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Paul's Cemetery under the direction of Paetznick-Garness Funeral Chapel, Groton. www.paetznick-garness.com
Visitation will be held at the funeral chapel from 4-8pm on Friday with a prayer service at 7:00pm. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
Jim passed away August 20, 2008 at Avera St. Lukes Hospital, Aberdeen.
James Robert Pigors was born on January 3, 1934 to Arthur O. and Ada (Lenling) Pigors in rural Ferney. He was baptized at St. Paul's Lutheran Church on February 4, 1934. Jim attended Prairie Pride grade school and graduated from Groton High School. Following school, he enlisted in the US Army and served from February of 1956-1962. James united in marriage with Marion Larson on October 26, 1960 in Webster. Together they made their home on the family farm in rural Ferney, where Jim did what he loved to do by farming.
Jim was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Ferney, where he served in several council positions. Jim was also a member of the men's club.
Celebrating his life through memories are his children; Rick (Cindy) Pigors of Andover, Becky (Brian) Felchle of Redfield, Lisa (Dean) Weber of Andover, five grandchildren; Eric (Kristin) Pigors of Jamestown, DJ (Ericka) Doxsee of Aberdeen, Ashley Pigors of Andover, Natasha Doxsee of Aberdeen, Dylan Doxsee of Redfield, and two great-grandchildren Grady and Gentry Pigors of Jamestown. Jim is also survived by his brother, Don (Leslie Ann) Pigors of Andover, his sister; Darlene Morton of Conde and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death was his wife, Marion, his parents; Art and Ada Pigors, his brother, Allan Pigors and an infant sister, Phyllis Pigors.
Honorary Casketbearers will be all of Jim's friends.
Casketbearers will be Bob Walter, Doug Sombke, Mike Nehls, Ron Kroll, Clint Sombke and Dan Krueger.
