Janette Ann (Herman) Imsland “Grandma Jet”, was called to Heaven on Friday, May 27, 2022.  Janette was born May 3, 1946 to Robert and Edna (Wettstein) Herman. On December 6, 1963 Janette married Barry Imsland and moved to Crandall where they raised 3 daughters. During this time, Janette worked at Art’s Grocery store, later becoming  D&A Market.  Her final career involved bookkeeping for Conde Farmers Elevator and later joining Wheat Growers in Mellette.

Janette spent her entire life in the Conde/Crandall area and had so many very special friends that shared in her journey. Janette so enjoyed their daily/weekly visits and camaraderie around the kitchen table. Her Conde home was the local Grand Central Station.

Janette’s talents really had no boundaries. She was a seamstress who made everything from Barbie doll clothes to wedding dresses and curtains, etc. She could knit and crochet any project we could find (sweaters, tablecloths, purses, etc). Counted cross stitch was her most recent joy making Christmas stockings for each grandchild and bookmarks for all her friends. Janette was also an amazing cook. We all loved her potato salad and of course her tacos. Janette also enjoyed bowling, reading and of course spending time with her family & friends. She was an active member of the Conde American Legion Auxiliary.

Grateful for having shared in her life and unable to comprehend how we can navigate life without her never ending knowledge are her three daughters Audrey Imsland of Groton; Tonya & Bernie Jark of Stratford; Marsha & Patrick Murphy of Watertown. Her grandchildren Chris, Collin (Sienna) & Holli Jark and Chelsea, Jared & Nathan Murphy. Her brother Bruce Herman and her sister-in-laws Jeannine (Jerry) Wright and Sharry (Gary) Schneider. Many nieces and nephews and her future great grandchild Baby Jark.

Preceding her in death were her husband Barry; her parents; her siblings Doug, Marilyn, Richard, twin brother Jerald and Bill.

Pallbearers will be Chris, Collin, Sienna & Holli Jark, Chelsea, Jared and Nathan Murphy.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Sharry Schneider, Joyce Sanderson, Donna Hearnen and Mona Baldridge.
