Services for Jordan Stearns, 20, of Groton will be 2:00pm, Friday, May 16th at St. John's Lutheran Church, Groton. Rev. Craig Grams will officiate. Burial will follow in Hecla Cemetery under the direction of Paetznick-Garness Funeral Chapel, Groton. www.paetznick-garness.com
Closed casket visitation will be held at the church from 4-8pm on Thursday with a prayer service at 8:00pm. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
Jordan passed away May 13, 2008 from injuries sustained in a car accident.
Jordan James Stearns was born on February 20, 1988 in Aberdeen to James and Linda (Glover) Stearns. He attended school in Groton, graduating in 2006. Jordan began working at Coco's Restaurant during his freshman year of high school. He continued to work as a cook at Coco's, while obtaining certifications in food preparations. Jordan had planned to further his skills by attending Culinary Arts School in Minnesota.
Jordan lived life to its fullest. His hobbies included playing disc golf, hunting, working on cars, texting and cooking. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends, the family dogs, watching movies, football and racing.
Celebrating his life through memories are his parents; four siblings; Lester (Constance) Stearns of Mitchell, Stephanie (Michael Ewalt) Stearns of Groton, Lauren (Jennifer Usselman) Stearns of Mina, Samantha (Andrew) Jondahl of Watertown, two nieces; Lyndsie Stearns and Abigail Usselman, and his paternal grandparents, Stanley & Irma Stearns of Hecla. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and his many friends made during his life.
Preceding him in death were his maternal grandparents, Lauren and Maye Glover, one uncle, Jeffery Glover and his cousin, Annette Stearns.
Honorary Casketbearers will be the staff of Coco's Restaurant, the Class of 2006 and all of his close friends.
Casketbearers will be Darren Locke, Ron Ask, Mason Dinger, Nathan Furman, TC Walker, Michael Protas and Landon Jondahl.
Family requests that in memory of Jordan, casual clothing be worn for the services.
