Larry Lee Smith passed away peacefully October 16th, 2025 at Eastern Star Home in Redfield, SD.  Larry was born to Carol (Fortin) and Floyd Smith on September 1st, 1959, in Redfield, SD. He joined his sister, Crystal, and brother, Loren, in Conde where he grew up and lived most of his life. He attended Conde High School, graduating class of ’77.  After graduation Larry got his CDL and entered the workforce. His trucking occupation took him all over the continental US.

In August of ’93 he got married. From this union, Angelia Smith (’94) and Devon (’95) were born and he gained his forever “stepdaughter” Miquette. Larry continued working for various trucking companies, the most recent being Ristevedt Trucking, Watertown, until ’09, where he suffered a stroke in Eau Claire, WI. After therapy Larry was able to get into an apartment in Aberdeen, where he lived for multiple years. This is where he met Macy and her family, Zoey and Evelyn. Macy assisted him in all aspects of his daily living and maintaining his independence. Larry had a medical episode that unfortunately ended the safety of him living on his own and he made the move to Eastern Star Nursing home, Redfield.

Larry is survived by his children and grandchildren, Angelia Smith and her son Maddox, Aberdeen, SD, Devon Smith and his daughter Ellieanna, Redfield, SD, and Miquette (Nick) Bottum and their children, Aiden, Chance, and Aria, Tulare, SD, a sister, a brother, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, many close friends, especially Paul Wolf, Kevin Labrie, Gene Weinreis, and CHS class of ‘77.
