Services for Laurence Krieger, 72, of Andover will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 23rd at Zion Lutheran Church, Andover. Rev. Lloyd Redhage will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow in the Andover City Cemetery under the direction of Paetznick-Garness Funeral Chapel, Groton.
Visitation will be held at the chapel from 4-8 pm on Thursday and will continue prior to services on Friday at the church.
Laurence passed away April 18, 2010 at Avera St. Lukes Hospital, Aberdeen.
Laurence John was born on August 26, 1937 on the farm south of Andover to Harry and Ester Violet (Voight) Krieger. He attended school in Andover and graduated in 1956. Laurence enlisted in the US Army on August 30, 1961 and served until his honorable discharge in August of 1963. He returned to Andover and worked for the Wattier Family Farm for over fifty years.
Laurence was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Andover. He also belonged to the Andover American Legion Post # 258. Laurence enjoyed fishing and hunting and will be remembered for his many hours of service to the Andover community.
Celebrating his life through memories is his sister, Margaret Shaw of Alabama, his nieces and nephews, David (Kimi) Bigelow, Richard Ludwig, Robert Ludwig, Louis (Kathy) Ludwig, Fred (Janel) Ludwig, June (Jim) Bean.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his sisters, Dorothy Bigelow and Violet Ludwig and his nephew, Tom Bigelow.
Casketbearers will be Aaron Bigelow, Eric Gray, Rick Wattier, Fred Ludwig, John Ludwig and Joe Ludwig.
