Lillian Rose Obituary

Services for Lillian Rose, 90, of Groton will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 20th at St. John's Lutheran Church, Groton. Rev. Craig Grams will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Aberdeen under the direction of Paetznick-Garness Funeral Chapel, Groton.

Visitation will be held at the chapel from 4-8 p.m. on Friday with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.

Lillian passed away Saturday, November 13, 2010 at Golden Living Center, Groton.

Lillian was born on November 28, 1919 in rural Groton to John and Emilie (Maske) Stange. She attended West Hanson Country School. On June 8, 1938, she was united in marriage with Emil Rose on the family farm. Together they made their home near Groton. Lillian worked outside of the home in later years, cleaning at Norwest Bank and the Post Office. Emil passed away in September of 1998.

Lillian was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aid and L.W.M.L. She was also active in Groton Senior Citizens, Good Cheer Circle and Garden Club. She enjoyed volunteering at Rosewood Court and Golden Living Center, Groton.

Celebrating her life through memories are her two children, Jim (Connie) Rose of Montpelier, Virginia; Elaine (Larry) Pigors of Aberdeen; two daughter-in-laws, Roxanne and Gloria, her sister, Elda Stange of Groton; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Preceding her in death was her husband, two sons, Kenneth and Myron; her siblings, Emma Bahr, Mary Neuman, Oscar Stange, Leona Siek and grandson, Todd Rose and two infant grandsons. She was also preceded by three infant siblings, Sabina, Ella and Erwin.

Casketbearers will be Marvin Rose, David Rose, Jerry Miles, Arnold Bahr, Brent Pigors and Ray Larson.
