Lourdes Stolle

Memorial services for Lourdes Stolle, 46, of Groton will be 7:00pm, Sunday, December 28th at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Groton. Pastor Elizabeth Johnson will officiate. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Alamogordo, New Mexico.

Visitation will be held at the church from 5-7pm on Sunday.

Lourdes passed away December 24, 2008 at her residence in Groton after a courageous battle with cancer.

Maria Lourdes was born on April 29, 1962 in Alamogordo, New Mexico to Dolores & Virginia (Duarte) Vasquez. She attended school in Alamogordo and continued her education at NMSU in Las Cruces, where she earned her degree in Accounting. Lourdes was united in marriage with Jeff Stolle on June 5, 1982. Together they made their home in Las Cruces where Lourdes held her first accounting job. They later moved to Kansas, where Lourdes was immediately picked up by another accounting firm. Their first child, Brandon was born in 1988. In 1990, after Jeff graduated from Veterinary College, they moved to Knoxville, Iowa and Lourdes worked for the Knoxville Main Street Committee. Their second child, Alyssa was born in 1991. The family moved to Groton in 1992, and Lourdes held positions at Kolker Law, Presentation College and Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She proved to be a valuable asset at each of her jobs and though she dedicated herself to her work, her top priority in life was raising her children; whom she loved dearly.

Lourdes was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Groton, where she had served as a Sunday School Teacher.

Family was very important to Lourdes. She held a close relationship with her sisters and her many nieces and nephews, who affectionately called her "Tia". She adored them all, and they adored her, but none adored her as much as her husband. Lourdes befriended everyone she met and will be missed by many.

Celebrating her life through memories is her husband, Jeff and their children; Brandon & Alyssa, four brothers; Lucio (Maria) Vasquez, Luis Vasquez, Larry (Jaime) Vasquez and Robert Vasquez, four sisters; Elisa (Oscar) Trevizo, Mary Lux, Margie (Victor) Macias, and Yolanda (Ralph) Ramos and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents.

Honorary pallbearers will be all of Tia's nieces and nephews.
