Madelin Daly

Madelin Daly, 95, of Jamestown, ND passed away March 14, 2020.

Madelin was born to Timothy and Martha (Lackner) Daly March 22, 1924 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Aberdeen, SD.  She grew up on a farm at Ordway, SD and attended rural school and then Aberdeen Central High School graduating in 1941.

After graduation she began a forty-eight year career in the automotive businesses.  She spent 6 years in wholesale in Aberdeen and then forty-two at the Ford dealership in Groton, SD as accountant and in the parts department retiring in 1989.  Following her retirement she continued accounting for Groton American Legion and others until 2008. 

She enjoyed working in her yard, sewing, needlepoint, varieties of embroidery, crochet, woodworking and traveling.

She is survived by brother, John M (Lila) Daly, Jamestown, ND; niece Michele (Wade) Sundeen, Jamestown, ND; nephew Michael (Angela) Daly, Fargo, ND;  great nieces Alyssa Daly, OR, Abby Sundeen and Brooke Sundeen, Jamestown, ND;  and great nephew Kaine Hasbargen , Fargo, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents, infant brother Timothy F. Daly, nephews, Patrick and Timothy Daly.

Private burial with be held at Union Cemetery, Groton, SD.  Memorial service will be scheduled at a later date due to recent public health concerns.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that memorials be sent to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Groton, SD or Eventide Nursing Home, Jamestown, ND.
