Memorial services for Margaret Rock Bennett of Incline Village, Nevada will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, May 19th at Union Cemetery Groton. Father David Janes will officiate. Inurnment will follow under the direction of Paetznick-Garness Funeral Chapel, Groton.
Margaret F. Abeln was born on March 5, 1925 to Henry and Nell (Perin) Abeln in South Dakota. She was a lifelong educator, starting her career in a proverbial one-room schoolhouse in rural South Dakota. In 1968, Margaret moved to Southern California, where she taught first grade and special education in the Los Angeles City schools after obtaining her Master's Degree. She united in marriage with Alfred Bennett in 1969, and together they made their home in both Southern California and Pickerel Lake, SD. Upon retiring to Incline Village in 1987, she was active in the Catholic Church, Bridge Club, Women's Club and private tutoring. She also assisted her daughter at the Honey Mountain Ham Stores in Incline Village.
Margaret is survived by her daughter, Judy Rock Lillie of Incline Village, Nevada.
