Marjorie passed away August 4, 2011 at Golden Living Center in Clark.

Marjorie Faye Bymers Wright was born Sept 8, 1912 in Turton, SD. She was the youngest of 8 children of Hessel and Klaska (Terpstra) Bymers. Marjorie lived in the Turton/Conde area of SD all of her life except for brief times. She graduated from Conde High School in 1928; attended NSN for 1 year. Marjorie married Frank Wright Aug 12, 1935 in Huron, SD. They farmed in the Turton area until Frank's death in 1972. Marjorie remained living in the farm house until 2007 when she moved to Roetell Assisted Living in Clark, SD. Due to requiring more assistance she moved to the Golden Living Nursing Home in Clark in May of 2010.

Marjorie was proud of her teaching experiences near Frankfort, and at Olean School House prior to her marriage. She served as Clerk of the Olean School Board for several years. She was a member of the Kings Daughters Life of Service Circle; a member of the Congregational Church in Turton and was involved in the "historical" effort to save this church; a long time member of the Conde Methodist Church and UMW since the 1950s, was involved in World Day of Prayer services for years, and held district and state offices of UMW. She was a member of the Friendly Hour Extension Club.

She was a true supporter of Frank as he served on REA boards for over 20 years. They made many friends and some of their travels certainly included these acquaintances as rural electricity became reality for SD. She may be the only woman whose husband and son both served more than 20 years on the Spink Electric Board/ East River Board! She liked sewing, handwork, gardening, reading and crossword puzzles, traveling, and working on the family genealogy. Many members of the extended family relied on her memory up until she moved from the farm.

She is survived by her children; Jerry and Jeannine (Imsland) Wright of Aiken, SC; Wayne and Bev (Holsing) Wright of Turton SD, and Barbara and Bob Meyer of Comfort TX; 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews and their families.

Her parents, siblings and husband, plus several nieces and nephews preceded her in death.

Pall bearers are grandchildren: Adam, Jon, and Joel Wright; Jeff, David, and Robb Meyer.

Honorary pall bearers are Jay Wright, Ann Hansen, Amy Kruse and Rhonda Vivian.

Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
