Mass of Christian Burial for Marlene Goldade, 77, of Groton will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, October 10th at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Groton. Father Mike Kelly will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Aberdeen under the direction of Paetznick-Garness Funeral Chapel, Groton.
Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.
Marlene passed away October 6, 2013 at Manor Care Health Services in Aberdeen.
Marlene Glatt was born on July 6, 1936 in Mobridge to Sylvester and Ida (Boheman) Glatt. She attended school in Timber Lake and later went on to receive her Teacher's Certificate.
On June 23, 1958 she was united in marriage with Anton Goldade in Trail City. Together they made their home in Groton and Marlene worked as a home health aide.
Marlene was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton and the Altar Society. She also belonged to the Senior Citizens. Marlene enjoyed knitting, crocheting and embroidery work. She also liked to read and do jigsaw puzzles.
Celebrating her life is her husband of 54 years, Tony, their children, Douglas Goldade of Aberdeen; Sandra Goldade of Aurora, Colorado; Cheryl (Kennan) Selby of Lakewood, Colorado and two grandchildren, Kayla Goldade and Dylan Goldade. Marlene is also survived by her brother, Marvin (Lillian) Glatt of Hoven, her nieces and nephews and many friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents, three brothers and one infant sister.
Casketbearers will be Dr. Dennis Glatt, Robert Goldade, Mike Goldade, Les Busch, Hal Jewett and Rodney Werkmeister.
