Mass of Christian Burial for Maurice Huber, 87, of Conde will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 10th at St. John's Catholic Church, Conde. Father William Osborn will officiate. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery under the direction of Paetznick-Garness Funeral Chapel, Groton
Visitation will be held at the chapel from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday with the family present from 5-6 p.m.
Maurice passed away January 6, 2011 at Golden Living Center in Groton.
Maurice J. Huber was born on January 17, 1923 in Conde to Leo and Rose (King) Huber. He attended country school, Ash Consolidated and graduated from Conde High School in 1941. Following graduation, Maurice farmed on the family farm in Clark County. He was united in marriage with Margery Bonn of Groton. Together they raised three children. The couple moved to Conde in 1978 while Maurice continued to help on the farm and also drive school bus for many years.
Maurice was a great fan of traditional country music, especially anything by Hank Williams, Sr. He loved old cars and tractors, coffee with friends and family and his grandchildren. His humility, humor and gentle manner will be greatly missed.
Celebrating his life through memories is his wife Margery; children, Linda (Bart) Jett of Gardendale, Alabama; Steve Huber and special friend, Donette Dunlavy of Conde ; Mary Ann (Jerry) Taylor of Conde, ten grandchildren, Beth Craig, Todd (Allison) Craig, Matthew (Heather) Reeves, Megan Reeves, Collin (Terri) Huber, Jay (Shannon) Huber, Logan Huber and fiancAC. Lindsey Meester, Ross Taylor, Brenna Taylor and Molly Taylor and four great-grandchildren, Tanner Huber, Grady Huber, Nolan Craig and Emma Craig. He is also survived by his sister, Margaret Holmquist of Watertown and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents and his brother, Frederick "Fritz" Huber.
Honorary Casketbearers will be Megan Reeves, Todd Craig and Matt Reeves.
Casketbearers will be Ross Taylor, Logan Huber, Jay Huber, Collin Huber, Jerry Bonn and Ron Bonn.
