Michael Patton

Services for Michael “Mike” Patton, 45, of Andover will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 19th at Paetznick-Garness Funeral Chapel, Groton.  Pastor Kari Foss will officiate.  Burial will follow in Andover City Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the chapel on Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.

Mike passed away July 14, 2023 at Marshall County Healthcare Center in Britton.

Michael Paul Patton was born on January 17, 1978 in Aberdeen to Russell and Susan (Marske) Patton. He attended school in Groton and graduated in 1997.  Mike worked for a time at Darrel’s Sinclair and was later employed at South Dakota Wheat Growers, now Agtegra Cooperative for 12 years. 

Mike was raised in the Lutheran faith and was confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Groton.  He enjoyed helping his uncle, Dennis, on the farm and was always up to help with a project.  Mike had a passion for Derby racing and could often be found tinkering on his cars/truck in his spare time. Affectionately known to friends as “The General”, Mike will be truly missed by those who loved him, including his faithful dogs.

Celebrating his life is his mom, Sue of Andover, his sister Michelle (John) Tackett of Aberdeen, his niece Mackenzie Patton (Parker Amdahl) and their son, Hunter, his aunts, Marcia Marske, DeAnne Marske, Denise Marske all of Aberdeen and his uncle, Dennis (Sandy) Marske of Andover.

Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Richard & Audrey Marske.

Honorary Casket bearer will be Chris Sippel.

Casket bearers will be Eric Garrett, Travis Ascher, Austin Schreur, Micah McIntosh, Forrest McIntosh and Chad Sjurson.
