Patricia Nietert Obituary

Memorial Services for Patricia Nietert, 94, of Aberdeen and formerly of Claremont will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 11th at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.  Father Greg Tschakert will officiate.  Inurnment will follow in Huffton Cemetery under the direction of Paetznick-Garness Funeral Chapel, Groton.

Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 5-7 p.m. with a wake and rosary at 7:00 p.m.

Pat passed away December 6, 2021 at Avera Mother Joseph Manor, Aberdeen.  

Patricia Jean was born on November 10, 1927 in Langford to Peter and Helene (Olson) Dunne.  She grew up and attended school in Deadwood.  She transferred her senior year and graduated from Britton High School in 1945.  Pat was united in marriage with Charles “Duke” Nietert on July 3, 1947 in Britton.  The couple made their home in Claremont and were blessed with six children.  Pat worked several years for Dorsett Eyecare, and later for Vision Care in Britton. 

Pat was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.  She also belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary, where she served as District President.  She enjoyed taking bus trips, bowling, playing bridge and watching baseball, especially the Minnesota Twins. 

Celebrating her life are her children; Charla (Wendell) Rye of Claremont, Barbara Nelson of Aberdeen, Jolaine Fitch of Aberdeen, Chuck (Jeanette) Nietert of Sioux Falls, Brian Nietert of Hecla, Jill (Denis) Meyer of Lester, Iowa, 22 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, four siblings, grandson, David Rye, and great-grandchildren, Logan Klebsch, Owen and Aylah Meyer.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
