Mass of Christian Burial for Paul Brandriet, 59, of Watertown will be 10:30 am, Monday, February 23rd at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Waverly. Father Ken Koster will officiate.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm at Wight, Comes & Sogn Funeral Chapel of Watertown. A prayer service will begin at 7:00 pm.
Paul Eugene Brandriet was born on January 20, 1950 in Watertown to Donald and Josephine (Cordell) Brandriet. He attended school in Waverly, graduating in 1968. Paul worked for an area farmer and did local construction work before moving to Minneapolis in 1971. He attended Minneapolis Vo-Tech, studying in Machine Tool. On January 13, 1973, he united in marriage with Anna Kolbiarz-Sala and together they made their home in Minneapolis. Paul was employed with Graco, Twin Cities Automatic, Greason and Specialty Manufacturing. In 1995, he returned home to Waverly and lived on the family farm. He later moved to Watertown and worked part-time at the Bramble Park Zoo. Paul passed away February 18, 2009 at Deuel County Memorial Hospital in Clear Lake.
Paul was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Waverly. He had a love for the outdoors and all of nature. Paul enjoyed fishing, spending time at his lake cabin in Brooten, Minnesota, and deer hunting with his dad and brothers. He will forever be remembered for his free spirit and love for family.
Celebrating his life through memories are his daughters, Maria (Dan) Erickson of Savage, Minnesota; Kathy (Brad) FitzPatrick of Minneapolis, Minnesota, his mother; Josephine Brandriet of Waverly, four sisters, Beverly (Paul) Isom of San Simon, Arizona; Donna (Douglas) Kjornes of Watertown; Jeanette Snoozy (Bill) Towle of Watertown; Marjorie (Marlow) Schaffer of Selby, five brothers, Roger (Karen) Brandriet of Waverly; Brian (Kim) Brandriet of Watertown; Dale (Shellie) Brandriet of Arlington; Douglas (Sandy) Brandriet of Watertown; Russell (Amy) Brandriet of Arlington and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding him in death was his father, Donald Brandriet.
