Richard "Dick" Voss

Memorial Services for Richard "Dick" Voss, 94, of Andover will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 11th at the United Methodist Church, Groton.  Rev. Brandon Dunham will officiate.  Inurnment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Aberdeen under the direction of Paetznick-Garness Funeral Chapel, Groton

Dick passed away September 3, 2019 at his home

Richard Dale was born on July 16, 1925 in Andover to Arthur Agustus and Martha (Horter) Voss.  He attended school in Andover and began farming with his father as a sophomore.  In 1943, he was united in marriage with Irene Morehouse and to this union, two sons were born.  Dick and Irene worked together raising a variety of crops, as well as chickens.  For many years, they custom combined down south and later in the year would haul potatoes and sugar beets in North Dakota.  Irene passed away in July of 1996.  Dick continued work on the family farm until his retirement four years ago.

Dick was a member of the United Methodist Church, Groton.  He was active in the James Valley Threshing Association and Two Cylinder Club.  In earlier years, he enjoyed dancing and playing baseball.  In the late 40s to early 50s, Dick played on the Independent Basketball Tourney and his team won State Amateur Basketball Champions five years in a row.

Celebrating his life are his nieces and nephews and his special friend, Betty Schneider.

Preceding him in death were his parents, 6 brothers and 3 sisters.

Honorary Urnbearer will be Betty Schneider.
