Services for Sarah Ann Andrews, 97, of Claremont will be 10:00am, Friday, May 16th at the United Methodist Church, Claremont. Rev. Ryan Mutzenberger will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Aberdeen under the direction of Paetznick-Garness Funeral Chapel, Groton. www.paetznick-garness.com
Visitation will be held at the chapel from 4-8pm on Thursday with a prayer service at 7:00pm.
Sarah Ann passed away Sunday, May 11, 2008 at Golden Living Center in Groton.
Sarah Ann Neff was born on August 2, 1910 in Washington Courthouse, Ohio to Elmer and Grace (Ryder) Neff. The family moved to South Dakota in December of 1914 and settled in the Barnard area. Sarah Ann attended country school and later Houghton High School. On November 3, 1928, she united in marriage with George Andrews in Groton. Together they made their home in Claremont. Sarah Ann clerked for many years at the department store in Britton and later worked for the grocery store in Claremont.
Sarah Ann was a member of the Claremont United Methodist Church. She had also been active in the Silver Spurs Saddle Club in Pierpont and the National Trail Riders of Ft. Sisseton. Sarah Ann had a love for horses that she never outgrew. She enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers and Atlanta Braves, as well as cross-stitching, crocheting, and quilting for her family.
Grateful for having shared in her life are her two daughters; Arlene (Charles) Mewing of Aberdeen, Yvonne Gibbs of Claremont, loved like a daughter; Margaret (Jim) King and family, eight grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, two sisters, two brothers, one son-in-law, two grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Honorary Casketbearers will be her great-granddaughters.
Casketbearers will be her great-grandsons; Nate Zeeb, Daniel Ogren, Matthew Bailey, Travis Bailey, William Gibbs, Andrew Steffensen, Lincoln Gibbs, Harley Gibbs, Donnie Evans and Brady Nelson.
