Thelma Radke Obituary

Services for Thelma Radke, 90, of Groton will be 2:00pm, Saturday, May 3rd at St. John's Lutheran Church, Groton. Rev. Craig Grams and Rev. Wesley Hafner will officiate. Burial will follow in Groton Union Cemetery under the direction of Paetznick-Garness Funeral Chapel, Groton. www.paetznick-garness.com

Visitation will be held at the chapel from 4-8pm on Friday with a prayer service at 7:00pm. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

Thelma passed away April 30, 2008 at Golden Living Center, Groton.

Thelma Elizabeth Flint was born on April 18, 1918 to Albert and Isadora (Amsden) Flint in Aberdeen. She attended school in Groton, graduating in 1935. Thelma was united in marriage with Marvin Paepke in 1936. Marvin passed away on December 18, 1953. On March 21, 1955, she married Harlan Radke in Stratford. The couple made their home in Groton. Thelma worked from many years at Omer's CafAC. and later for Volk Drug.

Thelma was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Stratford and been active in the ladies aid. She enjoyed baking and spending time with her family.

Grateful for having shared in her life is her husband, Harlan, her children; Rev. William (Audrey) Paepke of Piedmont, Tom (Barbara) Paepke of Groton, Harlan "Butch" (Nancy) Radke of Groton, eight grandchildren; Donna (Mark) Moffett, James Gilbertson, Sarah (Jay) Raymond, Jennifer (Robert) Murray, Karl (Shauna) Paepke, Michelle (Chad) Johnson, Kevin Radke, Lisa (Brent) Wienk, eighteen great-grandchildren, one sister, Ester Schott of California and five nieces.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her first husband, one daughter, Marlene Gilbertson and one sister, Mildred Bacus.

Casketbearers will be her grandsons; James Gilbertson, Mark Moffett, Karl Paepke, Robert Murray, Jay Raymond, Kevin Radke, Chad Johnson and Brent Wienk.
